Maximilian Lazar wins the best student project at EXPO 2014

The annual EXPO of the Department of Informatics at University Hamburg is an exhibition of student projects including Bachelor-, Master- and Diploma theses. This year our student Maximilian Lazar was honored for his Master thesis a�?Mobile Analytics: Collecting and Understanding App Usage Dataa�? supervised by Prof. Dr. Walid Maalej. The research aimed to answer the question on how to collect raw mobile data and transform it into meaningful and useful information to improve mobile apps. The project also aimed to study how organizations and software vendors can use mobile analytics. Maximilian Lazar developed for his thesis a Mobile Analytics system called MARLA. MARLA tracks in-application usage data and provides on a reporting web server three Analytics scopes: Session Analytics, Feature Analytics, and Review Analytics.
